At Live Companion AI, your privacy is foundational to how we build and operate our service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We believe your conversations are yours — and we treat them that way.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, a password (stored only in hashed form), and your date of birth (used solely to verify you are 18 or older). If you choose to provide a display name or profile photo, we store those as well.
Conversation Data
We store the messages you exchange with your AI companion, including text messages, voice transcripts, and any media you share within conversations. This data is essential to providing persistent memory — your companion’s ability to remember your history together and maintain continuity across sessions.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you interact with the service, including session timestamps, features used, message counts, and general interaction patterns. This helps us understand how people use Live Companion AI and where we can improve the experience.
Device Information
We automatically collect basic device and browser information, including your browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and IP address. IP addresses are used for security purposes (such as detecting unauthorized access) and are not used for advertising or tracking.
2. How We Use Your Information
Providing the Service
Your conversation data powers your companion’s memory, emotional state, and relationship progression. Without it, your companion could not remember you, recall shared experiences, or grow your relationship over time. This is the core purpose for which your data is collected.
Improving the AI
We use aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to improve our AI systems’ general capabilities — such as response quality, emotional accuracy, and conversation flow. We do not use your individual conversations to train models for other users. Your conversations remain yours.
Billing and Account Management
We use your email address to send account-related communications, including billing receipts, subscription confirmations, password reset requests, and important service updates. We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.
Safety and Security
We use device and session data to detect unauthorized access, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service. We may review flagged content when our automated safety systems detect potential violations of our acceptable use policies.
3. How We Protect Your Information
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information:
- Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Encryption at rest: Your conversation data and personal information are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
- Access controls: Employee access to user data is strictly limited on a need-to-know basis, logged, and audited regularly.
- No data selling: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or conversation data to any third party. Ever.
- Regular security assessments: We conduct periodic security reviews and vulnerability assessments of our infrastructure.
4. Conversation Data
Your conversations with your AI companion deserve special attention. Here is how we handle them:
Stored for Your Companion’s Memory
Conversation data is stored to power your companion’s persistent memory system. This includes message text, voice transcripts, emotional context, and relationship milestones. Without this data, your companion would not be able to remember you or maintain continuity.
Not Used to Train Other Models
Your individual conversations are not used as training data for models serving other users. Your companion’s memory is yours alone. Aggregated, anonymized data may be used to improve general system performance, but your specific conversations are never shared or repurposed.
Not Shared With Third Parties
Your conversation content is not shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties. The only exception is when we are legally required to comply with a valid legal process (such as a court order), in which case we will notify you unless prohibited by law.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information and conversation data for as long as your account is active. This is necessary to provide persistent memory and relationship continuity — the core features of the service.
If you choose to delete your account, we will permanently delete all of your personal information and conversation data within 30 days. This deletion is irreversible. Certain anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for analytical purposes.
If your account is inactive for an extended period (12 months or more), we may send you a reminder email before taking any action on your data.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you at any time.
- Export: You can request a machine-readable export of your conversation history and account data.
- Delete: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data. Account deletion is available directly in your account settings.
- Correct: You can update or correct your personal information through your account settings, or by contacting us.
- Restrict processing: You can request that we limit how we process your data in certain circumstances.

7. Cookies and Tracking
We use a minimal set of cookies, limited to what is necessary to operate the service:
- Session cookies: Used to maintain your login session and remember your authentication state. These expire when you close your browser or after a set period of inactivity.
- Security cookies: Used to prevent cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and other security threats.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics trackers. We do not participate in ad networks or cross-site tracking. We do not fingerprint your browser or device for advertising purposes.
8. Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of third-party services to operate Live Companion AI. Each is bound by its own privacy policy and our data processing agreements:
- Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe handles all credit card information directly; we never store your full card number on our servers. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — Cloud infrastructure and hosting. Our servers and databases run on AWS with encryption enabled at all layers. See AWS Privacy Policy.
- AI model providers — We use third-party large language model APIs to power companion conversations. Conversation data sent to these providers is subject to our data processing agreements, which prohibit them from using your data for their own training purposes.
9. Children’s Privacy
Live Companion AI is intended exclusively for users who are 18 years of age or older. We require date of birth verification during account registration and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a user under 18, we will promptly delete the account and all associated data. If you believe a minor has created an account on our platform, please contact us immediately at support@livecompanion.ai.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (at the address associated with your account) and by posting a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was most recently revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
